Intricately designed real estate sales office located on the ground floor of a residential high rise building. This space contains the ultimate high-end finishes inclusive of 14 different wall coverings and 13 different lighting fixtures all perfectly blended in a modest 1,900sf space.
D.C.-based public relations firm Nahigian Strategies, in collaboration with The Carr Cos., launched a multimedia production space called Big Whig Media out of the Willard InterContinental Hotel. Big Whig has two main studio spaces with large windows to the Willard plaza as a backdrop. Users are able to retrofit the space with their logos and branding while recording. Big Whig includes five editing bays, three uplink rooms and a greenroom for guests. The 4,297-square-foot center takes over the space formerly occupied Chanel, next to Café du Parc.
The popular Dutch brand teamed up with TEEL to build out a couple of their new locations. The design includes an industrial look utilizing finishing of existing concrete, European composite panels, and the customary G-Star Green Storefront.

The project consisted of the interior renovation of approximately 3,600 SF of existing tenant office space below residential apartments. It is designed with 10 offices, 1 breakroom, 2 bathrooms, 2 conference room and multiple open areas for clients and agents to meet.
TEEL Construction was hired as general contractor to complete several, newly-opened HSBC branch locations throughout the nation. The scope of the work included, but was not limited to level 5 finishes throughout, custom millwork, office operable partitions, complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, controls & low voltage systems, exterior storefront modifications, installation of HSBC ATM’s, exterior HSBC signage and custom exterior alucobond panels. TEEL Construction was also responsible for the selective upgrades to HSBC’s fire alarm systems at several existing locations. JLL served as Construction Manager for HSBC.

ALDI, our long time partners, encountered a space that they decided to split and rent out 8800 sqft of it to Five Below. They hired us to build out the Five Below and finished it to have an open concept like their other locations. We also oversaw their fixturing and merchandising process to which is quite unique and extensive.
Selective interior renovations/ upgrades to the Carr Workplaces Reston Town Center location – 1818 Library Street – 5th floor. The scope of the work included all new finishes & electrical @ all public corridor locations and conference rooms – new carpet, wall base, wall art, wallpaper and systems furniture. Our scope included the complete renovation of their existing café – demo and removal of all existing finishes and MEP – new layout, custom millwork, solid surface countertops, coffee station, A/V and new MEP, Sprinkler and control systems. Our work also included building a new custom receptionist desk and select modifications to their business center.
5,500 sf build out of office space for nationwide Information Technology Firm CAPTECH. The Project team of Architecture Incorporated and TEEL Construction delivered the space in 8 weeks due to a tight time frame for existing leased space expiring. Trans wall glass office fronts, high end finishes and exposed ceilings provide an open and airy work space.
TEEL has developed a wonderful relationship with Gawler’s Funeral Home. Our team coordinated the completion of a stunning interior renovation. This included a Sequa Room with beautiful dark wood of the highest quality, which complimented the portraits of some of our finest presidents. A museum of memorabilia called the Founders Room, which carries artifacts reaching back to the day they started serving the community.
First project with this Commercial Real Estate Company headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. The project consisted of demolishing existing office space and combining adjacent space to create a new office suite. Highlights of the project include Glass office fronts and modern finishes that include a large waterfall island in the pantry. This project was fast tracked and completed in seven weeks.
TEEL was hired to complete Corepower’s second studio in San Francisco at Duboce and Church St. The build included high end finishes in restrooms and studios with a specialty HVAC system which needed to accomplish 105 degrees F. Be sure to check out Corepower for all your hot yoga needs.
Urgent Care Pediatric Clinic. Projects consist of creating Reception/Check In area, Large Central Nurses Station with surrounding Examination Rooms, Radiology Room and Lab Facilities. Unique to these projects are the hand painted murals and theme based finishes that vary from project to project. Majority of these projects are completed in 14 weeks.
Asana Partners hired TEEL to execute their vision for a two and a half story row house in the DC’s Barracks Row neighborhood. Renovations included a full interior gut of the existing residential facilities, interior office space buildout, facade renovation and a 3rd story addition to the rear half of the building.
Interior Renovation of main club house to include lobby/reception, business lounge, main corridor bar, Trophy Room and four dining rooms. Finishes included, hardwood floors, Axeminster broadloom carpet with custom boarders, large millwork package, wallcoverings, accent lights and decorative ceilings. Main focal points were Glass Half Wall with Kenwood Logo that was uplit with LED Strip fixtures and Barn Door that was made of reclaimed wood that separated two of the dining spaces. Complete renovation was completed in 12 weeks while the upper level of the building remained operational.
TEEL has completed multiple locations for the Virginia headquartered fast casual dining chain. Projects include full turnkey buildout from the MEP systems to the signature white and red checkered tile.

Delta Sky Club at Dulles International Airport was a complicated $3.2M, (6) phased, complete gut & renovation of their high-end lounge for the premier Delta clientele. Goddard School at the Wharf in DC is an 8,500 SF preschool, child care provider that TEEL built out for the franchisee’s during a 14 week schedule, designed by Loveless Porter. It occupies the ground level floor plan of the new building owned/built by PN Hoffman. It’s designed with 9 distinct age separated classrooms, over 10 bathrooms, shared pantry/kitchen facilities and two offices with entry’s and exits to the waterfront and rear playground.
TEEL was hired by Burke & Herbert to complete an 12,000 SF phased renovation of their existing office space in Alexandria VA. Renovations included an addition of a new kitchen and pantry, new dividable conference rooms, new common area work spaces for their employees, and new executive suites.
Navy Federal hired TEEL to complete the renovation and expansion of their HQ’s fitness center. This multi-phased renovation of the 12,000 sf space allowed for the gym to remain operational throughout the whole project. With high end architectural finishes and ultra clear glass throughout, it’s a fitness center anyone would like the chance to work out in.

Class A, high-end interior office build out for a privately owned, global cloud computing software company. This office serves as their East Coast regional ‘touch down,’ mobile office headquarters. The scope of the work included, but was not limited to concrete floor polishing/ refinishing, all new finishes, exotic solid surface countetops, full MEP design and installation, new partitions, modular systems furniture, new doors/ frames & hardware, security/ IT/AV & low voltage controls installation and hardware. This was a fast track project that included managing TEEL subs and approximately 10 or so additional Owner vendor/suppliers. This project also include a custom built, back painted, LED glass company logo installation at the front entrance of the office suite. This would be the 2nd such installation for this company – the 1st being in California. Despite having over a 400+ plus itemized punch list, this project serves as an example of great team work and collaboration, overcoming critical path scheduling issues, to achieve a well built office space.
Newly built 3,200 sf restaurant interior with an approximately 1,000 sqft kitchen to accommodate 100+ patrons. The scope of work included but is not limited to MEP, sprinkler, new finishes, custom millwork and countertops. TEEL also scheduled, coordinated and installed all owner provided millwork, specialty items to include industrial kitchen equipment, wood wainscoting, trims, metal accents and walk in cooler.
Dominion Energy hired TEEL to complete the ground-up buildout of a new office building and storage building. The building were PEMB construction with a full fit out in the office building and an open shell in the storage building.
Class A interior office renovation roughly 9,000 sf. The scope of the work included high-end finishes, furnishing and installing European hexagon wall tile, refinishing existing bamboo wood flooring, and level 5 finish on all new walls. This projects is located in the historic Willard Office Building at 14th and Pennsylvania in Washington, DC. This building is owned and operated by Carr Properties in which TEEL was able to secure other new projects.
New 8,590 SF build-out in an existing shopping center. Included demolition of existing storefront, steel, front concrete apron, and complete gut of interior. Build-out consisted of new steel for glass storefront and vestibule with exterior EIFS and masonry, new sidewalks, and complete interior fit-out with new bathrooms, dressing rooms, storage room, walls, paint, exposed ceilings, sealed concrete floor, and tenant provided fixturing.
Casa de Montecristo hired TEEL to complete their new DC location. Once an old pizza restaurant, the design team creatively utilized and recycled many of the existing architectural features which lead to a distinctive final product with real character. Customers are able to rent a locker in the custom-made millwork on the 2nd level, or browse from the side lit retail shelves on the ground level.
TEEL Construction was hired for the 4 Seasons Training Golf Facility at Washington Golf and Country Club located off of Glebe Road in Arlington, VA. This new facility is a ground up two story building that includes two indoor digital simulators, indoor putting and chipping, 20 exterior hitting bays, a bar, restaurant, open terrace with an outdoor fit pit over looking the stunning newly renovated greens.
Maison Kayser brought its French elegance to Chinatown in Washington, DC; located just above George Washington University. The restaurants deign required over 55 core drills over the University challenging TEEL’s team with overnight – weekend work to accommodate the neighboring tenants. The final outcome showcased open layout allowing for high-end finishes, a storefront window in the middle of the store, extensive lighting with various fixture types as well as a brand new kitchen.

Beyer Blinder Belle hired TEEL to complete a three-phase renovation of their Georgetown offices and elevator lobby. The renovations included a new kitchen, reception area and conference room with full height sliding glass doors, as well as changes in finishes throughout the 8400 square foot space.

The penthouse floor of building 1227 was converted from a storage space and mechanical room into a luxurious fitness center for the building tenants; complete with locker rooms, a built-in sound system, a lounge area and an open glass entrance. The fitness center is also equipped with high-end cork flooring with a sound reducing underlayment and over 10 different wall tile and flooring specifications to create a sleek finish.
A 5,400 sf high-end interior fit-out for the future offices of Dr. Mesbahi and Dr. Venturi, 2 of our Nation’s leading cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons. The intricate finish package detailed by Architecture Inc includes back-lit natural onyx columns, terrazzo flooring, recessed lighting niches, custom art glass backsplashes, exotic tile walls, and custom built-in furniture, including the luxurious banquettes in the open and bright reception area pictured here.

TEEL’s relocation to Fairfax, VA after nearly 28 years in Great Falls provided additional space for our team’s continued innovation and growth. Phase I of the relocation encompassed the interior fit-out of the company’s new headquarters. Phase II brought the renovation outdoors with a new facade. Working closely with Cowie Associates and the City of Fairfax’s Board of Architectural Review, the team met rigorous historical district design criteria. As our architect, Chris Cowie stated, “we sought a design that looks to the future but also respects the history of this building and the City of Fairfax. TEEL executed this vision with precision.” The design includes a new MEG paneling system, anodized aluminum canopies, and a plaster entry column feature to better define the building entry. Built on an 80,000 square foot lot in 1960, TEEL completed the comprehensive renovation of Southgate Shopping Center including a façade renovation, roof replacement, new electrical services, HVAC units and interior white box work with two tenant build-outs.
Together with the owner and architect, TEEL accomplished raising the façade for increased visibility of the shopping center along with creating contemporary lines by removing the brick and shingle material, adding brand new framing, EIFS and paint and incorporating the modern architectural detail finishes by Butz-Wilbern Architects. The before and after construction photos capture the building’s considerable exterior upgrades.
Washington REIT tasked TEEL in building a new home for their team in the heart of NW. OTJ Architect’s design of this corporate interior made sure not a square inch was left without an upgrade. Previously an open space with basic finishes, you will now find bright and open, floor-to-ceiling glass offices and conference rooms, a kitchenette, and a finish package that brings together all of the details of the new contemporary office.
Extensive millwork took part in making the 6,900 s.f. space functional – complete with custom built cabinets and organizational shelving – without ignoring modern touches such as under cabinet lighting to match the stylish furniture, artwork, and wall detail.
Jared – The Galleria of Jewelry has opened its newest location in Charlottesville, VA just after the 2017 New Year. This 5,300 s.f. ground-up project features Jared’s signature high end interior finishes and sleek exterior design.
Partnering with a long time client EDENS, TEEL completed the Jared’s turnkey project as well as several other shell buildings, retail shops and restaurants at The Shops at Stonefield.
Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union opened the doors of their newest branch in August 2016 as part of a 363,000 sf building leased by the DOJ in the NoMa Development.
The Project team of Collective Architecture and TEEL Construction delivered the space at 175 N Street NE Washington, DC complete with high end solid surface countertops, glass doors/walls and custom ergonomically designed teller desks. The colors and textures bring an inviting feel to the space.
Warby Parker is spearheading the ‘click to bricks’ trend with a rapid expansion into retail locations. TEEL was tasked with the build out of their first Virginia location at Tysons Corner Center. This space is furnished with high end finishes from the elaborate terrazzo tile to the custom hardwood millwork throughout.
Description: Located in Downtown Chicago, this financial institution required a comprehensive build out including extensive electrical work on multiple floors of the Class A high security building. Trading desks, UPS systems, multiple television locations and security cameras kept their signature modern trends in appearance. TEEL is looking forward to continue working with the team in 2017 as we’ve been awarded the opportunity to complete two more projects together.

The 8,000 SF of Washington REIT Spec Suites on the 3rd Floor of the Monument II building in Herndon, VA included completely new mechanical, plumbing and lighting systems for (3) new future tenant suites including pantry’s, conference rooms and glass wall features.
After nearly 28 years in our Great Falls, VA office, we chose the City of Fairfax as our home for the next 30 years. Our team demolished the former 12,000 s.f. law firm to create an open – yet private – collaborative work environment for our home office team. Working closely with the architect, we set out to balance the trendy open office work space with a series of perimeter offices clad with glass storefronts. This allowed for abundant natural lighting to permeate throughout the floor plan which was supplemented with LED ambient-dimming lighting. The public areas feature white oak millwork, painted structural decking and a charcoal-stained and polished concrete floor. In order to move in before year end, the project was put on an accelerated schedule and completed in 7 weeks.
TEEL was contracted by EDENS to lead the 2nd phase of development at the Shops at Stonefield. A pair of single-story base buildings were constructed to a cold dark shell condition totaling approximately 21,600 s.f. TEEL subsequently prepared the shells for the incoming retail and restaurant tenants to vanilla box condition.

When modern thinking creative firm HUGE, Inc. began to outgrow their existing DC office space, they selected a 12,000 SF section of what was previously an electrical supply warehouse in EDENS’ Union Market development. The converted open office space received a mezzanine lounge, all new mechanical systems, NXT wall storefront assemblies and dry erase idea paint on office walls throughout while still maintaining it’s industrial feel.
TEEL built this shop in shop cafe in the Millenia Mall Bloomingdales in Orlando, FL. Forty Carrots took the prior footprint of a retail clothier, stock room, and fitting room in the Bloomingdales’ main sales floor. Be sure to visit next to get sandwiches, smoothies, or ice cream next time your in the area.
Repeat client, Air Ventures entrusted TEEL with the construction of their new Wolfgang Puck concept “The Kitchen.” A 3,000 SF new build-out in Concourse A of Washington Dulles International Airport combined three previous restaurant spaces into one. Notable features include the oversized Woodstone Pizza Oven, a double layer floating concrete panel ceiling system and custom light fixtures from the Czech Republic.
Located in Terminal B of Washington Dulles International Airport, this 500 square foot retail store offers high end ladies’ designer bags to fit any need. With a selection from luggage, to purses to jewelry, this is sure to be a great stop next time you’re catching a flight from Dulles.

Kit & Ace creators J.J. and Shannon Wilson wanted to fill a void in the luxury apparel industry by introducing casual cashmere for their customers. The luxury is in the details, boasts the new addition to high-end retail shopping walk, Bethesda Row. TEEL Construction’s extensive experience with high-end retail establishments made for a natural match as a part of Kit & Ace’s project team. The store opened for it’s first customers in November 2015.
Washington Real Estate Investment Trust [Wash REIT] contracted with TEEL to complete the base building mechanical system upgrade of The Kenmore Apartments in NW. The circa 1955 boiler system was replaced with state-of-the art ductless heat pumps to the building’s 351 individual apartment units. During the course of the upgrade, the building also underwent extensive renovations to the 10 floors of corridors and lobbies.

The Firkin & Flyer is a British style pub at BWI, conveniently located in the B/C Concourse connector. Decked out with wall to wall graphics and an aeronautical themed decor, it features a full size biplane mounted directly in the terminal between the main dining area/bar and the high-end lounge across the hall, designed for patrons to relax and grab a drink while they wait for their flights. This renovation of an old warehouse in a DC packing district brings Chef Nick Stefanelli’s aspiration for his first restaurant to life, which has since been awarded a Michelin Star. The 2,000 square foot interior’s features include an open kitchen, hand-made tile, white marble countertops, custom-made climate controlled wine cabinets, and a mixture of plaster and exposed walls and ceilings. Outdoors, you can sit under the 1,500 square foot climate controlled pergola which is fully retractable, and covers the imported hand-painted tile floor. While waiting for a table, you can lounge at one of the couches that surround the fire pits at the entrance to the restaurant.
Renovation of 30,000 SF of offices on the 3rd floor of this existing, functioning and fully operating Kellogg Conference Center Hotel (KCC) into 29 hotel rooms at Gallaudet University. The schedule was based upon getting rooms open and ready in preparation for a fully scheduled spring season of events where the Hotel Operator is counting on the additional revenue from these 29 rooms. The biggest challenge that presented itself on this Project was working around the KCC events schedule and Hotel occupancy while still progressing the construction schedule. Adding 29 bathrooms to the floor meant plenty of core drilling which couldn’t be done in the evening due to Hotel guests, above, and couldn’t be done in the day due to Conference Center Events, below. The project team was able to schedule and complete over 180 core drills, while balancing the Client’s needs with the progress of the job.

10,000 SF tenant fit out for national retailer Pier 1 Imports who shut down an existing store location less than 1 mile from this new location in The Foxchase Shopping Center [see facade renovation in TEEL’s portfolio]. TEEL was contracted by the building owner and landlord, Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (Washington REIT) to complete the turnkey build-out. The challenges presented on this Project were in taking three smaller tenant spaces, built slab on grade at two separate elevations along with a non-structural slab at a third elevation, and delivering a final slab at one elevation for the 9500 SF sales area required by the design. TEEL’s scheduling and coordination between subcontractors and the structural engineer was critical to the resolution of the structural puzzles presented on the project.
EDENS contracted with TEEL to transform a former electrical supply warehouse into a 3-screen Angelika Film Center “microcinema”. The Pop-Up will be Angelika’s temporary venue while EDENS develops a new full-scale cinema a block away at Union Market.
A 6,000 s.f. fit-out for the men’s clothier, HMX Group. The team was charged with preserving this historical fabric of the Georgetown structure while constructing reclaimed components which contributed to the eclectic theme experienced throughout the 2-story building.

When Dr. Saundra L. Seaman, M.D. needed additional real estate to expand her growing practice, she turned to TEEL to help with her medical office expansion and renovation. Three exam rooms, a new office and a larger reception area were added as part of the expansion while comprehensive renovations to the existing practice were completed to tie the spaces together. The project was completed off-hours and during the weekends to ensure no down-time occurred to the practice.

SF terrace at 1500 Wilson Blvd features an open ceiling concept and an extensive glass package to help filter natural light through the space. One of FI Consulting’s core values is an “emphasis on teamwork and open communication.” The team adopted this motto from day 1 and effectively communicated throughout the course of the project, leading to a successful turnover and happy tenant.
Collective Architecture brought in TEEL during the early conceptual design phase of the project. We worked closely with Collective and Spartan Surfaces to provide budgeting and value engineering of the comprehensive renovation of this 14th Street row house. Collective Architecture’s sleek design featuring clean lines, floating ceilings, a floating mirror wall and a tree trunk that was scribed to the solid surface countertop gives way to the showroom’s featured product lines. One of Spartan Surface’s missions is to “Help our clients bring a vision to life.” With our collective team approach, we achieved this mission for out client.

A comprehensive renovation of their 13,000 square foot Roslyn, VA headquarters. TEEL partnered with architectural firm Esoarch Studios in this design-build contract to ensure the conceptual budget and proposed schedule were maintained. The project’s scope included new carpet and paint throughout the fully occupied 11th floor suite, as well as the reconfiguration of several core work areas to help promote collaboration. ContourGlobals regional headquarters was constructed using environmentally-sound, high-end materials throughout the 4,500 square foot 9th floor suite. A design build project, TEEL Construction’s collaboration with ESOARC Studio of Falls Church VA, yielded delivery of a fresh new look to the Dessange Spa – Paris, that had not seen in 15 years in its Chevy Chase location. As the single source selection, TEEL Construction (with its design team members) dovetailed Parisian notion into hard facts on paper, transforming a dull corner of Wisconsin Ave into a place of rest and relaxation. Appointed with high end finishes, and touches that define the client, Dessange Paris rises above local competition, and sets a new standard in personal care for their industry. A complete finish and interior element renovation of the salon and retail space was completed.This included the removal, modification and addition of cabinetry, the provision and installation of interior custom glass paneling, and state of the art work stations. These changes additionally included painting, wall coverings, floor finishing, signage, electrical, HVAC and illuminated wall graphics to top things off. In the end, the space opened exactly as the customer intended right in time for the 2009 Presidential inauguration. The British Fashion Invasion Week at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship store was celebrated by AllSaints’ Biker Project. Venetian polished plaster wallboard imported from England surrounded steel supports erected to display the high-end retailer’s leather biker jackets. A vintage Triumph motorcycle engine suspended using a chain and pulley mechanism is the main focal point of the display. Completed locations:

This 1000 square foot custom retail / jeweler fit-out was the 1st TOUS completed in Virginia. The Barcelona, Spain-based retailer is pushing quickly into the United States, and plans to open 30 stores next year.

Located in The Shops at Stonefield in Charlottesville, this 4,500 square foot oyster bar and restaurant owned by acclaimed Restaurateur Travis Croxton of Rappahannock Oyster Co., features a minimalist design with a large dining area, open ceilings, stained concrete floors, an open view kitchen, and a 20-seat white marble topped bar. TEEL constructed this 135-seat bistro (IAD’s Largest Restaurant), converting what once was three retail spaces. Bistro Atelier opened by restauranteur, Hakan Ilhan, brings classic French cuisine to the airport, including savory and sweet crepes, and an all day breakfast and brunch menu. The Denver-based fast casual restaurant chain is quickly expanding east. Typically constructed within ten (10) weeks, TEEL is charged with effectively managing over 2 dozen subcontractors and Owner vendors to ensure an on-time opening. The Smashburger name refers to the chain’s process of smashing meat on the grill; meant to keep the juices seared in. This ‘wine country chic’ style of construction boasts reclaimed barn wood from Missouri used for interior millwork components and the storefront façade. The 55-seat dining room overlooks a 12-seat custom zinc bar top with backlit feature wall that separates the bar/ dining room areas from the retail wine shop.

Elevation Burger’s commitment to the environment was upheld with the use of high-end, environmentally sustainable and non-hazardous finishes. Included in this mix was bamboo flooring, low VOC paints and sorghum countertops.
