10,000 SF tenant fit out for national retailer Pier 1 Imports who shut down an existing store location less than 1 mile from this new location in The Foxchase Shopping Center [see facade renovation in TEEL’s portfolio]. TEEL was contracted by the building owner and landlord, Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (Washington REIT) to complete the turnkey build-out. The challenges presented on this Project were in taking three smaller tenant spaces, built slab on grade at two separate elevations along with a non-structural slab at a third elevation, and delivering a final slab at one elevation for the 9500 SF sales area required by the design. TEEL’s scheduling and coordination between subcontractors and the structural engineer was critical to the resolution of the structural puzzles presented on the project.
